Article Processing Charges
The Archives of Case Reports is dedicated to providing an open-access platform for publishing high-quality case reports in the medical field. In order to ensure the sustainability of the journal and cover publishing costs, the journal applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted manuscripts.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
The APC is applied to cover editorial management, peer review, production, and hosting services. This fee is due once an article is accepted for publication and must be paid prior to the final publication of the article.
The current APC for the Archives of Case Reports is:
- $2,589 USD for all types of case reports.
Authors are required to settle the APC promptly once their article is accepted for publication. Payment instructions will be provided at the time of acceptance to ensure the timely publication of the article.
Waiver Policy
Archives of Case Reports understands that authors from low-income countries or those facing financial constraints may find it challenging to pay the APC. To support such researchers, the journal offers a waiver for the APC under certain circumstances.
Waiver requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and authors are required to submit relevant documentation to request a waiver, such as proof of financial constraints or affiliation with an institution in a low-income country.
Additional Charges
In addition to the standard APC, authors may incur additional charges for certain services:
- Color Figures: There are no additional fees for publishing figures in color.
- Supplementary Materials: There is no extra fee for including supplementary materials such as datasets, videos, or additional files.
- Urgent Processing: There are no additional fees for expedited processing of your article.
These additional services are optional and will apply only if the author requests them during the submission process. Fees for these services must be paid before the final publication of the article.
Payment Methods
Archives of Case Reports accepts payments for article processing charges and any additional services through the following methods:
- Credit/Debit Cards: We accept payments via Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
- Bank Transfers: Authors can pay through international bank transfers.
- PayPal: Payments can be made securely via PayPal.
All payments must be made in U.S. dollars (USD). Detailed payment instructions will be provided after the acceptance of the manuscript.
Refund Policy
Once the Article Processing Charge (APC) is paid and the article is accepted for publication, no refunds will be issued. However, if an article is withdrawn before it enters the peer-review process, authors may be eligible for a partial refund, depending on the stage of withdrawal.
