Waiver Policy
The Archives of Case Reports (ACR) is committed to supporting researchers in disseminating high-quality case reports through open-access publishing. We recognize that some authors, particularly those from low-income and developing countries, may face financial difficulties in covering the Article Processing Charges (APCs). To promote equitable access to publishing, the journal provides a waiver policy for eligible authors.
Eligibility for Waivers
The ACR waiver policy is designed to assist authors who lack sufficient financial support to cover APCs. Waivers may be granted to:
- Authors from low-income and developing countries.
- Researchers without institutional funding or financial support for publication.
- Early-career researchers or independent scholars with financial constraints.
Each waiver request is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Authors must submit a formal request along with supporting documents to justify their need for a waiver.
Waiver Approval Process
All waiver requests are reviewed by the editorial team of ACR. Decisions regarding full or partial waivers are based on the applicant’s financial situation, affiliation, and the availability of funds for waivers. Authors will be notified of the decision as soon as possible after their request has been reviewed.
Partial Waivers
Depending on the circumstances, some authors may qualify for a partial waiver, which reduces but does not completely eliminate the APC. The availability of partial waivers is determined based on funding availability and the applicant's financial need.
Waiver Request Submission
To request a waiver, authors must submit a formal application to the ACR editorial office at [email protected]. The request must include:
- Author's full name and institutional affiliation (if any).
- The manuscript title and submission ID (if applicable).
- A detailed explanation of the need for a waiver, along with supporting documents such as proof of low-income status or lack of funding.
Authors are encouraged to submit waiver requests as early as possible, preferably at the time of manuscript submission, to avoid delays in the review and publication process.
The ACR remains committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder the publication of high-quality case reports. For any inquiries regarding waivers or eligibility criteria, please contact our editorial team.
